Artissima 2016 will be open to the public from the 4th to the 6th of November 2016, from 12 pm to 8 pm.
The preview and the vernissage will take place on November the 3rd , the access is only upon invitation. This event awards emerging talents within the fields of photography, performance, experimentation and design.
The exhibition is divided in three sections, every one of each match with an award.
The Present Future section of Artissima 2016, is coordinated by Luigi Fassi and dedicated to the emerging talents. The exhibition displays the projects of 20 artists, who have been introduced by 18 international and 4 Italian galleries.
Back To The Future is the section dedicated to the revival of the great pioneers of the contemporary Art. This year’s edition focuses on artworks from the period within 1970 and 1989.
2016 edition’s committee for the “Sardi Award for Art – Back to the future” consists of Daniel Baumann (Kunsthalle Zurich), Christine Macel ( Musée National d’Art Moderne – Centre Pompidou, Paris, Biennale di Venezia 2017), Joanna Mytkowska (Museum of Modern Art, Warsaw).
Per4m is the exclusively section dedicated to performances. During Artissima 2016, for the first time, this section will evolve into an unique project, entirely curated by the Dutch collective “If I Can’t Dance I Don’t Want To Be A Part Of Your Revolution” and it will be followed by the “Prix K-Way Per4m”, which will award the most significant artwork among the participants in the section.
